Frequently Asked
Questions
and some that I wish
were asked more often
How long have you been
painting?
All my life. As far as "serious" oil painting, I started when I was 12.
Let's just say over 20 years and leave it at that!
How long did it take you to
do THAT painting?
Over 20 years PLUS three hours (for a small plein air painting). Over 20
years PLUS a week (for a studio painting).
What does "giclée"
mean?
It means an inkjet reproduction of an artwork. Mine are done with archival
inks on artist quality paper or canvas, and they are limited in their
edition size, meaning if I say it's 3/250, that means the third one of a
possible number ever in the whole world of 250. I include a certificate of
authenticity with each one.
Aren't you lucky to be so
talented?
Actually it's been more of a mixed blessing. LOL. The idea of "1%
inspiration and 99% perspiration" applies.
Where do you get your
ideas?
They are always floating around in the ether for anyone to grab, and I just
act on them.
Want to hear my great idea
for a painting?
Well...actually I have so many ideas of my own already I don't have time to
paint them all. But if it's an idea for a commissioned work, then let's
talk!
What is that a painting of?
I love when you ask me this question, as it usually comes up when I'm
standing AT La Jolla Cove, and my painting is OF La Jolla Cove. Tee hee.
How do I get on your email
list?
Send me an email at silverann@usa.net
requesting to be added. Or write your email address on my mailing list form
at the galleries.
